Spring 2018 Update
APRIL 3, 2018
DEAR SMBC SUPPORTERS,
We are excited about the 2018 Camping Season at Short Mountain Bible Camp! It seems like only a short time ago we were wrapping up the 2017 season. However, the 2018 season is right around the corner. We are working hard to get ready for all the campers and staff that will join us at SMBC this summer. When you come to camp this summer, you can expect to see the following updates to our facility:
1. Blackhawk and Walnut have both been refitted with new tile floors in the bathroom facility. We have also made these rooms as water tight as possible to try to avoid any future damage.
2. The Boy’s and Girl’s bathhouse facilities are currently going through a major/complete renovation. Every stall, shower, and vanity, is being upgraded. New plumbing, water heaters, and tile is also being installed. These fully upgraded facilities will be ready and open at the beginning of camp this summer.
3. The gym will be painted.
4. The Mess Hall will receive an extensive outside renovation. The building will be wrapped in new wood, with careful consideration given to making it look original. It will also be stained.
5. The Gym will have a brand new look with color everywhere being updated.
We believe in the power of the Gospel. We believe that SMBC is a place where the Gospel is taught. The reason we are updating our facility is so the Gospel can be taught on the mountain for years to come.
This summer will be our 65th summer. We humbly ask you for your continued support and involvement at camp. There are a variety of ways to help. Of all things that can be done, we would humbly ask you to consider making plans to attend one of our informational nights/fundraisers. We have two fall fundraising nights. Manchester and Cookeville host these events. We are also planning a Spring fundraiser at the Woodbury Church of Christ on April 21. Any help you provide to SMBC goes straight to our facility or our ministry to children.
We wish God’s blessing on your summer. Thank you for your continued support. Please continue to pray for us! We are praying for you!
Blessings,
SMBC Staff
