July 2017 Update

July 2, 2017

Dear SMBC Supporters,

Camp has gotten off to a great start this season. We have just finished our 5th week on the mountain and have already seen the Lord touch the hearts and minds of kids across the region. Through his word and local church leaders, we have seen kids baptized and restored. In the next newsletter we will share you ( in as much as we can) how many kids, teenagers, and adults the Lord touched through his word.

We have also heard so many kind words from people so far about some of the minor ascetic updates throughout camp as well as excitement about the new Worship Pavilion. Each week has used the facility to meet their own needs, but each week has been able to enjoy the view of the mountain at sunset for worship each night. We are thankful that so many people saw fit to help us financially while we put the project together.

We have also received a lot of suggestions about what to work on next, and we take each suggestion very seriously. As we start to move toward the end of the summer, we wanted to let each of you know that if you have suggestions for the Board of Directors, or for John or Jerry, please email shortmountainbibletn@gmail.com. We already have some great plans for updates before next summer, and would love to add to them as we have availability.

One final thing: We wanted to let each of you know 2 important dates. Friday night September 29 we will have our 2nd annual SMBC Benefit Dinner in Cookeville. The event will start at 6:30 and will be held at the Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. We are already assigning table hosts and any other sponsors. If you have any questions, please contact John Nichols at 931-498-3312. Last year was such a success and we are hoping to share big dreams and big prayers! Saturday night September 30 we will hold our first SMBC Benefit Dinner in Manchester. Our friends from Coffee County have always loved and supported SMBC in so many ways, and we are excited to see what God’s people can help us accomplish on this night. If you would like to sponsor a table or help in any way, please contact Mark Williams at 931-581-5013.

Until next time, please continue to pray for the mission of SMBC and all our kids. We appreciate your support in helping us make what we believe will be a record year for the camp!

Blessings,

For the SMBC Staff
